Hints to Pay Your Credit Card Bill
Most people have to deal with the inability to pay their credit card bills at least once or twice in their lives. This should tell you that not being able to pay your credit card bill is nothing to be ashamed of. Of course, if this is the first time you’ve encountered this kind of distress, it can be quite frightening. Here are some suggestions if the bill is due and you don’t know how you are going to pay it:
-The first thing you should do if you are truly strapped for money and have no way of paying your credit card bill is to call the credit company and ask if you might be allowed to pay a lower payment for that month. If your account has been in good standing up until this point, most creditors will be happy to work with you. If, however, your repayment has been hit and miss, you might have to figure out how to come up with some quick cash.
-Look at your current expenses and see if there is something you can do without for the next few weeks so that you can put that money toward your credit card bill instead. For example, buying generic brands of food and household products can be a great way to save some extra pounds.
-Is there anything you can sell? Many people find that eBay and rummage sales are great ways to generate some quick cash when their budgets start feeling tight. Look around your home. Surely there is something you can put up for auction or out at a sale-old clothes, old movies, things you bought but haven’t used. Get creative!
-Do you have any good friends that you might be able to ask for a loan? It might not go over well to ask one friend for the total sum of your bill, but you might consider asking a few friends for smaller amounts that you can later combine and use for bill paying. Of course, if you go this route, you must make paying back your friends your first priority!
-Put together a budget. If you find that you cannot afford to pay your credit card bill it is time to go over your finances with a fine toothed comb. There are probably many areas that you can tighten. Your credit score is far more important than any of the frivolous things you’ve been buying so far.
These are just five quick hints to help you out when your credit card bill is due and you discover that you aren’t able to pay it. You have probably come up with some other ways to raise funds and save your credit score as well!
